I chose this topic because I am interested
in how small particles or instruments can help to significantly improve the
effectiveness of some drug and in this way can improve the capacity of said
drug to help more people.
This is a topic that
I have listened to for a long time, but I only started investigating it to make
this blog, so we are going to learn together about nanotechnology in pharmacy.
The first thing we need to know, what is and
what nanotechnology is used for?
Nanotechnology is the science that deals
with the processes that occur at molecular level and of nano length scale size.
There are numerous examples from nature like DNA, water molecules, virus etc.
Nanotechnology has many applications in
pharmacology at present as:
- · Nano-medicine
- · Tissue Engineering
- · Nano-robots,
- · Advance diagnostic,
- · As carrier of diagnostic
- · Biosensor
- · Biomarker
- · Image Enhancement
The future of nanotechnology in pharmacy
has enormous potential since eventually in the future more and better
nanoparticles and nanomaterials can be developed that can serve to improve the
controlled delivery of biactives from a drug in a specific place, which is what
has what to achieve to have effect. In fact in the future the objective is to
devise a nanomachine, which can detect and attack pathogen simultaneously,
detect the change in molecular event during diseased state, and also monitor
the efficacy of treatment. This will surely have a very positive impact on
human welfare, since it seeks to make better and more effective drugs so that
more diseases can be effectively treated, such as cancer.
The nanotechnology principally has only
advantages, since what the scientific looking for at work with nanoparticles
and nanomaterials is to improve the disadvantages that have the original drugs
turning it disadvantages into advantages. For that nanotechnology is the future
of pharmacy.
Thanks for reading.
Very interesting. The nanotechnology had a lot of applications.
ReplyDeleteWow, the nanotechnology have a lot of applications
